Hello, it's me Kristin. Most of you know me already but for those who don't. I'm the mother of an awesome 11 & 1/2 year old son,Zack, dx'd 3 years ago with Aspergers/ PDD~NOS. He's a very affectionate(with me), considerate, spirited little guy.It's been quite a journey. He's also been through spouts of what looks like ODD,but most of that has subsided.Phew!Got over that hurdle. But seriously, learning as much as I can about his dx has increased my interest so much so that I've taken a Child Psychology course so that I can take the Autism Behavioural Sciences course. I worked in a Postal Outlet for just over 10 years, which I've just recently left to pursue my dream career of working with children on the Spectrum.
Along with my son who I call "my every heart beat", I have my hubby Steve of 4 years who has a wonderful 10 year old daughter(NT). It's quite amazing at how the two of them get along so well. But I don't know anyone who could not like Keira. She's so sweet and caring and considerate.
I found this group(well ASDS) just over a year ago, and became an Assistant Manager just a few months ago. I'm still so greatful I found these amazing people.And the new name suits us well~yes we have our good and bad days but for the most part we share the Brighter Side Of Autism. I've been through a lot with this group and they've always been supportive, caring and understanding.Whats more is they will tell it like it is, which I truly appreciate.
Now that you know a little about me, my family and my history here. I look forward to reaquainting with old friends and hopefully make some new ones.
