I'm Niki, married to Steve for the past 9 years, mommy to my adorable son Austin.  We live in northern Indiana, close to the Michigan border.

 

I've worked at Menards (big-box midwest-based home improvement store, like a Home Depot but better ) for the past 15 years in various capacities.  I'm hoping to return to college next fall to pursue a degree in elementary ed. with a special ed certification, and eventually teach special education students in an integrated classroom setting.  I enjoy doing home improvement projects, crafty-type things, scrapbooking, reading, and messing around on the computer. 

 

My husband Steve is a CPA who works as a controller for a Chicago-based health club.

 

Austin is almost 6 and will start kindergarten in less than two weeks!  He was diagnosed with autism 2 1/2 years ago.  He is a super-affectionate little ball of energy who loves to jump, climb, spin, sing, tear things up, and chase the cat!  He definitely keeps us on our toes but he is totally the light of our world and I can't even remember life before him, or imagine it without him
