Albert Dubout (1905-1976)
This french cartoonist, illustrator, painter and sculptor was a cat lover, so no wonder a good deal of his work was about our dearest furry friends. Born in Marseilles, he spent most of his life in Montpellier, where you can find a museum and several streets dedicated to the artist. Dubout is known for his many drawings, illustrations, posters, paintings, and his subjects are as diversified as they are well liked. He was awarded the Legion of Honour in 1953.
I strongly recommend his wonderful book « Les Chats » available on Amazon.fr (they will send your orders almost everywhere in the world).
