Holiday Red Wine Serves 12
2 750 ml bottles Dry Red Wine 1 cup Light Corn Syrup 1 cup Water 8 in. square double-thickness Cheesecloth Peel of an Orange 1 Cinnamon Stick 8 whole Cloves 1 whole Nutmeg
Blend together the red wine, light corn syrup, and water in a slow cooker. Rinse the cheesecloth and squeeze out the excess water. Wrap the orange peel, cinnamon stick, cloves, and nutmeg in the cheesecloth. Tie with string and place in the crock pot. Cover and cook on high for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. To serve, discard the spice bag and ladle the warm wine into mugs.
