</MYMAILSTATIONERY> Beltane Beltane is one of my favorite holidays. Traditionally celebrated May Eve ( April 31st), it marks the return of life to the Earth. Everything is once again vibrating with new life. Everywhere you look, life is being reaffirmed. This holiday has may different names such as May Day and Rood Day, and is considered a Fire Festival. Some Beltane activities include tossing wishes in a balefire and fire jumping to ensure conception. It's also an appropriate time for workings for courage, patience and harmony. Use frankincese, lilac and rose incense on your altar and call on Artemis or Diana (Lunar Goddesses) or Pan for fertility. Use vibrant colors such as the colors in the rainbow or earth colors, such as dark green for candles. You could include a small maypole or phallus shaped candle to symbolize fertility. Wild flowers including marigolds and primrose are good altar decorations. As for food and cooking, use any red friuts, green salads, red or pink wine and large oatmeal cakes. You can also use herbs such as angelica, almonds, blue bells, daisies and hawthorn | </MYMAILSTATIONERY> |
