When a person moves; the brooms, mops and dishrags should never follow to your new home because then any bad luck will move with you. Besides it is nice to have nice new brooms and mops to start afresh.

In the old days, brooms were placed up the chimney to signal the neighbors that no one was home. They could be seen for miles around, alerting those would be visitors to save their strength for the journey another day!

And if you have visitors you wish to leave soon upon arrival...place that Magical broom standing up next to the door. Your company will soon part.

To this day I have never seen a Witch fly on her broomstick!
