Samhain is a magical time of year. It’s a time to interact with loved ones who have crossed over and it’s a time to celebrate the end of summer. It’s also the Celtic New Year. So have fun with this sabbat. You can use the Pumpkin Protection Spell around your home to help guard you from unwanted visitors. Your home does not have to look like “the witches�?house, you can turn your protection in to a work of art or you can hide it behind the hedges of your home. But since it’s “Halloween�?time, no one would think much of a fall decoration at this time. So tart up your design!
Pumpkin Protection Spell
Supplies:
Pumpkins - enough to cover all the doors in your home. Gourds - enough to cover the windows in your home. Herbs - 3 protection herbs (your choice) Tea Light Candles - enough lights for each pumpkin and gourd. Sticks - Enough to cover all the doors in your home. Bells - Enough to cover all the doors in your home. Ribbon - decorative touch. Glue - Use a weather proof glue Cutting tools - to remove seeds of pumpkins and gourds. Embellishments - your choice.
Cast a circle the way you normally would. Bless all your “magical�?supplies. Remember to empower your magical objects as you work on your project. Visualize the pumpkin and gourds protecting your home both day and night. Begin by cutting the centers out of the pumpkins and gourds. The gourds should look similar to a “spoon�?shape when you are done. You can cut out eyes, nose and mouth of pumpkin.
Take your pumpkin and gourd stake (the stick) and leave enough room to shove the stick in to the ground and glue the back of the pumpkin or gourd to the stick. Let it dry. Decorate the pumpkin or gourd with your embellishments. Attach ribbon streamers and at least one bell per pumpkin and gourd. When you are done decorating your pumpkin and gourd, close your circle.
How To Use:
Prepare a protection chant. This chant should be something simple and easy to remember. As you stake the pumpkin or gourd in the ground, say your chant. Do this to all the windows and doorways around your home.
After Samhain, you can bury the pumpkins and gourds around your home or you can toss them out. Either way, they served their purpose.
