Magical Ice Lantern
Materials
�?
Large metal bowl or some such item
�?Plastic yogurt container or something the size of a votive candle
�?Cupful of small stones or herbs that match your intentions.
�?
A handful of pennies or something heavy and small.
Step 1:
Start by pouring a couple inches of water into the mixing bowl. Place it outdoors to freeze.
Or in your freezer.
Step 2:
Fill the yogurt container with the pennies, then center it on the ice in the bowl. Add your stones or herbs, or both. Slowly pour more water into the bowl, so that it nearly reaches the rim of the smaller container, and let it freeze solid. If using whole sprigs of herbs, I place the stems in the base (the first water added) and have them go straight up. Then when you add the rest of the water to freeze, the herbs hold their position, this way works best and looks the best.
Step 3:
To remove the lantern from its mold, run warm water on the outside of the bowl and the ice should slip out. Next, dump out the contents of the inner container and pour in warm water to loosen it. Remove the container and place a votive candle in the opening.
Step 4:
Place outside at night stating your intentions, ie; healing, insight, strength...Let the candle burn till it's done. Allow the holder to melt into the Earth.
