Wolf Calendar

January
Month of Celebration
Wolves at this time are joyful for the new year. Wolves are very kind to each other at this time, and Alphas are often lenient.

Febuary
Month of Love
Mostly named after St. Valentines Day. On this day, all wolves may exchange a message to special friends and loves about how they care about them (You don't have to though :))

March
Month of Luck
Ok, the Valley won't have a ton of good luck. But usually healthy pups and many good kills are made in the week of St. Patrick's Day.

April
Month of Young
This is when all the game have their young. The females are well-hidden, and hard to find, while the males keep watch. Packs have to refrain themselves from overharvesting the young calves when they come out of hiding with their mothers.

May
Month of Less
Calves are fleet-footed at this time, and the grass is very green. There are less sick and injured animals, so wolf packs have a harder time bringing down game.

June
Month of Heat
Wolves do not suffer from the heat, for an odd reason. however, game do, and many become weak from overheating. Yes, the famine of May is over.

July
Month of Extreme
The heat is high enough that it affects the wolves. They still don't overheat, unless thay run around in the sun for too long. Much of the water dries up, and there is a great thirst in the pack. The Calondike Lands often become a hefty water source, and the pack there should either offer their hospitality, or become extremely protective during these months of thirst.

August
Month of Darkness
There are more hours of dark, but the heat is begining to lessen. Wolves become more active, and many times come across a moose or other animal that didn't survive the Month of Extreme. Wolves were before skinny, but become well-fed again. It rains a little, but there is still a drought.

September
Month of Light
the sun spends more time in the sky now, and is not as hot. It is getting colder, but the wolves are already prepared with their long coats. There is still a drought.

October
Month of Rain
Along with Halloween, there are a lot of storms, which lead to water! The drought ends, and there is lots to drink. Pups are very playful around Halloween.

November
Month of Giving
wolverines, foxes and bears are in the Valley this month, and Natane believes that food should be shared. It gets very chilly, and frost appears on the ground. Sick animals die, so there is enough to get around. Wolves lose a little weight, but nothing serious. It actually helps next month.

December
Month of Snow
Snow falls frequently, and usually 2-3 feet of it! Prey gets bogged down in this snow, but wolves don't with their light weight and special paws. Food is plenty, but for the lone wolves it is harder. Large prey need at least 5 wolves, which a lone wolf doesn't have. Still, almost all wolves survive these winters.
