I would to send my prayers and thought to all the innocent families that have had their loved ones murdered in this terroist attack. And pray that those still captured hostage are released or removed safely. |

Firstly I'm puzzled who the attack was against.. Reports were saying that the terrorists were asking for those with British and American Passports...but no reports yet that I've heard of any been shot or killed. They attacked a Israellie centre where some hostages have been shot but like Sunny says majority that have been murdered have been Indians. Therm your comment why not call all Gunmen and Bombers terrorists...Brilliant...does that include all American Gunmen who shoot people on a daily basis? |

It takes more cajones to go out to the front lines and line up against enemies who have guns/weaponry, who you know are going to be shooting back. Terrorists are cowards. |

Actually I heard the same thing Hal (about the ones with American and British passports) last I heard 6 Americans are dead. I don't know about British. |

Hal, if the shoe fits... Other than Timothy McVey, the Unabomber and a couple of anti-abortion wackos, I don't see widespread use of bombs by American criminals. They do use guns, and as far as I am concerned, a person using a gun to kill or maim another individual is, in my estimation, a criminal worthy of the harshest allowable punishment (I would fry him faster than I can say "plug it in.") But his intent was not to indescriminately cause widespread panic. That differentiates him from a terrorist. Not all "American gunmen" shoot people on "a daily basis," as you say. Most policemen (they can be classified as gunmen, since they do carry a weapon) have not had neither the opportunity or the need to fire their weapons in anger, the same goes for our soldiers. |

Well I do not think Therm has posted as much for ages.However I agree with himthese beoiple are Terrorists but as Hal say our soldiers must seem like that to the innocent people who are not fighting. On Mumbia I do not think they cared as long as they shot someone anyone, the also destroyed two of their geat acheivment the Hotels.. Islam is said to to be a peaceful religion, way back in Ayatollah's time, they tok btirish , American , I do not remember Canadians then but that twisted their religious thought. who ever went to try and right this wrong only escalated it and now if someone does not stop fightingand let them decide who they are fighting. In 10 years you will follow Islam or die. Check Google and find out how many islamic people are already in your country peaceful right now but if they get orders to take over what will they do? lmbo...I just went back and reread Hal's post. I finally understand. It seems he is picturing the U.S. as the Wild West. As in....we all wear gun belts and 45's and shoot anyone who gets in our way....lmbo.  Not hardly. In a country with 305 million people, only 1.5% (on average) of all deaths are caused by firearms. Sure, that is 1.5% more than there should be. However, most of these are criminals, gang members, and illegal aliens. Studies have also proven than more than half of these are suicides. I'm not saying we don't have room for improvement. But we aren't all a bunch of gun-toting, arrogant, lawless terrorists, either.  Accidental deaths involving firearms comprise less than 1 percent of accidental deaths or about 700 deaths a year nationwide in 2004, the most recent year studied. [NSSF] cites a recent report from the National Safety Council, a nonprofit public service organization, showing an amazing 48 percent decline in accidental firearm-related deaths in the past decade. Figures you can trust. Interpretation of the figures is another thing. Sass said "only 1.5% (on average) of all deaths are caused by firearms." You interpreted it as 1.5% of 305 million people. Maybe it was a Freudian slip? |

Sassy, You don't understand. It didn't mean that USA is still the wild west...thats another issue. Whether it's America or Finland or Uk ...the fact I was trying to make when someone is killed or terrorised by guns are they classed as terrorists? Like Therm replied..If the cap fits..then yes. It was no dig at your gun laws or the amount that are killed.....it was who do you class as a terrorist..... And I tend to agree with Therm. |

Maybe Hal is thinking of some of the lower class neighborhoods usually associated with blacks and minorities. Where gang related activities and guns are the norm. Where shooting a person is as everday as buying an icecream cone.... I know there are some neighborhoods i dare not drive through in fear of a stray bullet.. (or a speeding bmw...aka the shoelady) |

I find it odd that none of you mentuon Canada 23 Canadians were killed in this incident. these terrorists were killing foreigners they wanted passports, any passsports, what does that asy and other lot of terrorists coming im to our countries with real passports and fake people. I believe CNN actually reported on Canada's problems this week. Now that is news. ROwan. |

I had no idea that many Canadians were killed.
Sadly, the more you hear or see this type of event you tend to shut it out of your mind. If it directly affects you it doesn't seem real..
