As long as they are installed by competent techs, most of the ones on the market are fine. I tend to like the ones that have as few features as possible that still meet my needs. If he doesn't already have an alarm installed, it would be a good idea to buy one integrated with an alarm. If he has an alarm already, see if there is an add-on remote start module available for it. Make sure you get all the documentation (any reputable shop will give all the packaging to you) for any future issues that may arise. I would be more concerned with who is doing the install more than the brand of the starter. You find a good installer and they will know the brands to stay away from. |
