I have strong feelings about poetry being an art form, and as such, realise that  reflects the feelings of the artist at the time of writing it.

However, in a mixed group such as this, I think that care needs to be taken in choosing which feelings should be conveyed and which ones shouldn't.

Our main basis in this community has always been 'respect others and do your best not to offend' .Once more however I realise that there will always be some people who get offended much more easily than others.

Some subjects, by their very sensitive content, will cause offence, and I leave it to the common sense of the artists to step back for a second before posting in future, and ask 'are these my very deepest personal feelings?'  and 'would sharing them make some other people uncomfortable?'

Sometimes, having the RIGHT to do something, doesn't make it the right thing to do.

This is an adult board, isn't it?
I haven't been here long, but I would say that most don't seem to be easily offended on most of the posts, and lots of the posts lead to sex in one form or the other....big deal.

Keep writing Raymond...I think it's great to have someone who loves to write...it adds another dimension to the group.

Here's hoping that the managers don't get carried away with the censorship stuff

First of all Simple- I'd like to point out that if the managers were going to get carried away with censorship stuff, then this post wouldn't even exist in order for us to be debating this point.

Secondly, this community is here for it's members, and given that hosts, and managers have had more than a few messages of 'misgivings', shall we say, about the content of some of the poetry, and of other posts also, then as managers and hosts, it's our responsibility to say 'the line is drawn here'

Personally, I have no problems with erotica, BUT, if I wish to read it, I know that there are specialised communities and sites out there for me to visit if I so choose.

This Community not one of them. PERIOD - FULL STOP.

Consider the line drawn.

Yes we are adults......
Do some of us like porn..I would say some do and some don't
Do some of us like erotica..again some do some don't
Porn has never been acceptable in this community...there are other communities and sites that specialise for this taste.
Erotica is another form of porn.
There are books, magazines, films, websites, communities and even pictures that deal with this.
Yes I think's it's great that roomies right poetry and should keep doing so but like everything in this world there are limits.

Yes before you say, I do look at some porn and read it..but it's not what this community is about.

I am not sure of the poem (or poems) in question here but I see Dinky's post in another light.

Sometimes poetry is written to help the author better understand a painful or traumatic experience in life and can help the author to better resolve issues that have haunted them (as I have found with my poetry).

Where I see Dinky coming from is speaking of traumatic experiences in life, lets use child abuse as an example, while the author may have resolved these issues in life, others may not have and reading a poem that is full of emotion regarding this may bring to the surface many unresolved issues and it may happen at a time when that person is not yet strong enough, or ready enough, to deal with such experiences. In posting we may be making a situation worse for some people and therefore I very strongly agree with Dinky that some topics should be left out of forums such as this.

I may well be way of the beaten track here but it is just what I read into the comments made. The example already given about Porn may be nothing to those comfortable about sexuality and the naked form, but for someone forced into prostitution as a teenager or for someone who has experienced rape or whatever, it still may be a touchy subject. But regardless, people should look deeper and ask if posting this comment, or poem, or story, would I be offending anyone .. simply, have respect for others ...

Sorry if I see it wrong .......

Love comes and goes...
but you and me will be forever
are love is like light...
will never linger...
will always be full of fire..
oh yea.
are love is like the fire in night which you can see miles away on the hightest hill top to the bottom of the see...
see you know what i mean...
the love you once had but somehow...
disappeared into the moonlight darkness....
