Land Claims due to war or takeover by another country....should the land go back to the "original" people or does the "winning" country have the right to keep the land?

  • consider the Native America land claims now happening in Canada in the Southern Ontario region; the original deal was for the Native Americans to be "given" 10 miles of land on each side of a river, most of the land is now in the hands of "whites", should the land be given back
  • countries that have taken land in war - at what point do the "losing" people have the "right" to demand their land back
  • is the "policately correct" way of settling the claims valid
  • if you say yes give back the land, how far back do you go
  • if you say yes, then all of the America's should then go back to the Native Americans
  • would their be any place left on the planet that did not belong to another group at one point in time or another
