Jen's generally pretty computer savvy. Suspect her system just burped. They do that sometimes, Apples far less than MS systems, but it does happen. |

Yeah Pikes, with all the stinking changes to MSN the only way I can put one of my pictures in a thread is to load it into an album first, then copy it from there. Of course I must use html to do it. MS is not very friendly to other operating systems, even though I use their stinking browser sometimes!
Did I mention MS stinks? |

Coot saw my profile pic on Facebook...My amazing daughter could have had a career as a makeup artist...she made me into one of the CATS Without any directions or anything...when she was in high school and wanted to talk, I'd sit on a chair, and she'd pull out her makeup kit, and after a couple hours of conversation, there would be no telling what I'd look like! rofl... |

Pretty scruffy looking cat! Poor thing looks like she needs someone to stroke all her fur into place. Liker Coot said, here kitty, here kitty kitty..."
One of these days I gotta take a picture of my buddy, the neighborhood cat, for y'all. Everyone has a different name for him. I call him, Jac, for Just A Cat. 'Course I also call him, Jackie, Jackson, Jackie Robinson, and Andy Jackson, basically whatever comes to my lips. He's a black and white, and a real charmer. I generally have to straighten his fur for him because sometimes he rubs his back on the sidewalk while I'm trying to pet him. He'll role over on one side, so I try to pet that side, but halfway through he decides to roll over on the other side. It's like he wants to be petted on all sides at once! |

It was funny when she did that, I looked in the mirror and realized how easy it would be to get into that character (were one dancing CATS)...you look and feel like one!!! |

I'm not much of a dancer, the wife does all the dancing in this family. 'Course it may look like I'm dancin' when she's got me on the hot-plate!
Do you dance, Jen? Act? Any kind of performance besides that in front of a class? |

Never seen it. Have seen couple a passion plays in Oregon though.
That you enjoyed it? That's worth everything. Being on stage scares the Dickens out of me. My wife's as comfortable on stage as I am in my own home. I admire performers' courage. Oddly, teaching doesn't scare me like that. |

Oh... forgot... that was very punny by the way.
So, did you feel religious while you were 'performing,' or was it really a performance while you were onstage? |

I got to see Godspell on Broadway! I was just blown away! I also got to tour the area where the Oberammergau Passion Play is done every 10 years in celebration of God protecting those citizens from the Plague.... I wasn't there to see the actual Play (only happens on the years ending in "0"). I did get to see photographs of past players, the costumes, and read the script..... I joined a little Theater Group back in the late 70's. My first play was as Mrs Stevenson in "Sorry Wrong Number." I was terrified on Opening Night thinking I would forget all those lines - and be trapped on stage in full spotlight, crying..... As it turned out, the lights came up, and I went "into character" and just pretended it was just another rehersal...... Hooray! All plays after that were smaller roles, and much more "fun" to do! My younger son, however, is the real thespian in our family. He got standing ovations every night from his portrayal as "Radar" in M*A*S*H. I only had a tiny bit-part as Hawkeye's shrink, but it was so much fun to share play-acting with my son (when we'd played so much together when he was a kid....) |

What I loved about it was the relationship between Jesus and the disciples and real grassroots movements about love and equality. It WAS written in the love era, no? The fun part about that show was the audience interaction...we dance and sang in amongst the crowd...the story is basically the telling of parables...in one parable, the cast breaks out into impromptu singing of "Jesus Loves Me" and we were supposed to just do whatever struck us. One night, there were 2 little kids, maybe 5 and 3 right in the front row...I was doing the sign language and singing, and the little girl and boy caught my eye...they stood up close to me and started trying to do it too...I knelt down and it was like there was just the three of us there for a while...THAT'S the fun of doing stuff like that. |

Wow! Jen, that... trying to put it into words... uh, what an evocative telling. Such a mental image you created. To me, one of the most extraordinary things human life is capable of, is connecting, whether between human and human or human and other life. I'm not entirely sure we are the only ones who can do it. Dolphins can connect with humans, and with other dolphins in ways we can't yet grasp. Can dolphins connect with other species as well? We don't know. We know very little about ourselves, and even less about other creatures. So, for us, what happened between you and those children was about as intense as it gets. The interactivity between performer and audience is what makes performance art. Beautiful story. Thank you. |
