One of our former Swede Heaven ( WA ) neighbors started a newspaper for the Darrington area. IMO, Day does a good job even though it is not a NYT paper.

Read issue 9 of vol 1 a little while ago. A tear jerker! The little town of Darrington now has a "Law Office Of Ben W. Wells, PLLC". nough said .....

Coot, this area where I'm living in Arkansas is very rural.  We have a weekly Newspaper for the entire County.  Usually about 8 pages long (the "want ads" are only about 1/4 of one page...,) it keeps us subscribers (it comes by mail, not human delivery) informed.  Various small towns in the area have a "Reporter" that contributes a "column" (usually only a couple of paragraphs) each week.  Lots of photos of folks getting engaged, married, infants born, winning sports, etc.   I swear, the largest amount of writing in that newspaper comes from Court Reports!

I had to laugh one week when on one page is a photo of a recently engaged couple.  On the facing page was his name again, this time for being arrested for DUI.

Small towns, where everybody know's all your business....
