Man! It is seriously coming down today. Wind is striping all colored leaves from the trees too. Yesterday, I rode Wildfire up to the Seattle-Tacoma airport to have lunch with mom and my older sister. We went to Claim Jumpers restaurant. I had the Blackened Salmon Caesar salad. Mom had shrimp and scallop skewers on a bed of rice with a salad (raspberry-vinaigrette dressing). Sis had b-b-q pork ribs with mashed potatoes and gravy, something heart patients shouldn't make a regular diet of, but what the heck, it was a special occasion. Claim Jumpers has large portions, their desserts are huge! We split a berry pie a'la mode three ways.

Anyway, mom wants to know when I'm going to take her for a ride on Wildfire! I took her for rides on my last two Honda motorcycles, the CX500 and the V-45 Sabre. She's not about to miss an opportunity to ride a full-dressed Harley-Davidson! Then she will go and brag to all her girlfriends at church, I'm sure. heheheheh

Glad I got in that one little ride when I did yesterday. Seems like it was my first ride in about a week. Looks like it's going to be more than a week before the next one. I don't mind the cold so much, but riding in rain is dangerous! People in cars have enough trouble seeing bikers on clear sunny days. I just don't like the odds when it's raining. Wonder if I cleared out the garage if there would be enough room to ride Wildfire around in a circle? ...Probably not.

The wind is blowing sheets of rain across the back and whipping trees around like tall grass. It's a very elemental day. I need to go to the massage therapist now for some work on my arthritic neck and my back. Will check in again with you in a couple of hours?

Hope you'all are having a nice day.

One of them Pikes, also German, French, Jewish, Cheyenne, Irish, Russian, Dutch, eh, heck, I don't even know what all. My dad used to call his kids Heinz 57 variety. Uh, basically I'm a hoomun bean, upright walking 'hairless' ape, two legged mutt, wud'ever.

Haggis? (shudder) Oatmeal? Shortbread? Whiskey? Oh, yeah! But Haggis, hum, I'll pass. heheheh

OK Xer, no haggis (good thing, such a nasty dish it is)

The big storm missed us, and went north, so we're still basking in Indian Summer. We were forecast to get snow. I don't mind that we didn't.

I played a concert tonight, representing the Conservatory, for the city Chamber of Commerce. Gov. Ritter was there too, and afterward, the people raved about the music. One woman said I played like Andre Watts. I really just wanted to move the people, entertain them, and give them that vacation away from the worries of the world, for a few minutes.

I was particularly delighted to see in the audience, the superintendent who fired me, who was for the very first time, hearing me play. I made direct eye contact with him several times, and speaking of seeds, I hope I planted some big ones in his shriveled little heart and mind. Something like, "I let this guy go, because his principal, the woman I hired, produced some shit on the guy and wanted him gone, and he plays like this? Does he teach this well too? Uh oh..."

You get to meet Jen, and hear Liv play! I envy you, my friend. Give them both a big hug from me too. Someday, we just might all play together. Heck, I might be setting on of Jen's texts to music, you'll be promoting it, and Liv will be playing it.

Glad the storm missed you. On the news yesterday they were showing a few feet of snow somewhere in Colorado.

The first photo is beautiful. The second one simply is.....

It would be wonderful if fortune arranges you to be playing a concert when we come visit. I certainly would enjoy going for a walk with you, but it would be an especial treat to sit in during one of your concerts too.

I don't know if I'll meet Jen this month or not. She hasn't replied me yet. We aren't going to be able to see the concert in Seattle, so unless Liv choses to rehearse in front of us, I don't know if we get to hear her play either. It sucks that every time she is playing in Olympia we have other commitments at the exact same time! It just hasn't worked out yet, but one of these days we'll get lucky.
