I had planned to visit a local Cemetary today, but the weather is too bad to risk my health (raining and cold, with fallen leaves everywhere - and I don't walk so good anymore....)

So, instead, I will light some candles, and dig out one of my old Photo Albums, and wander down Memory Lane.....  My adopted Dad was retired (disabled) Navy.  My ex-husband and father of my kids is retired Army (after 12 years Air Force, he switched Branches, but stayed in same career field - Bomb Disposal including Nukes.)   I will say some prayers for all my fallen Friends (I lost several friends in Vietnam, and the son of a friend in Iraq.)   I will also say a prayer that Obama can Lead this country toward a more Peaceful Future.....

Bless you Gryphon...

My son and I will go to the graves of his Grandfather (Korea), Great Grandfather (WWI), Great Uncles (WW2 and Vietnam)...there is much to consider on a day like today, and while none of these men lost their lives in conflict, their lives were forever changed so we could live with privilege...

Thank you Gryp for your remembrance.

Even after all these years since Korea, I still vividly remember several of my fellow crew members killed in 1953 after I was safely back home and running around on Whidbey Is. The A/C crashed on a mountain in the Northern part of Okinawa. Perhaps, had I been on the radar then, the crash would not have happened.

oc..
