Didn't get much of anything done.... oh, except I ordered mom's early Christmas present. She was bemoaning everyone having a digital camera nowadays except her, so I mail-ordered her a Canon SD1100 IS. I expect her to be pretty happy with it. I got her a pink one. Mom's visiting my older brother until Friday. Then she goes to my cousin's (her sister's daughter) where she will stay until Monday. The camera should arrive here on Monday, that will work out pretty well actually. I'll give it to her right away so she can take Thanksgiving pictures with it.

Okay, otherwise I got nothing done today. Really really tired. Came home and took a nap, after lunch with my wife at a Mexican restaurant (ordered my food without any cheese). When I woke up from the nap it was too late to go to physical therapy. <sigh> Didn't even exercise today... much less ride Wildfire. Hope I'm not so tired tomorrow.

Hope you folks had a better day.

Do you need to be told that camping above 17,000 feet isn't good for you?

Laughter is low altitude.

I don't know how you feel about "neocons," in whom I include the parade of internet individuals who are constantly attacking others. But for several years, every year, I put together a Neocon Thanksgiving Dinner, made from snippets and quotes collected from their posts, as a laugh for those who may have been subjects of their harassment.

Rather than post the article, here is the link, so it is your choice to read or not. These are a list of some people whose internet lives seem only enriched when they can bash and hash somebody else. This is my way of giving back, saying to those who were the targets, "laugh well."

My point is, find something to laugh at, about, with..... For one thing, the rapid intake of oxygen through laugher MUST have a positive effect on the energy of the body,

Jen, I hope you won't be upset if I call you while you're at work? I keep thinking I shouldn't call during the day, then forgetting to call in the evenings. Can I call you now.....?

I'm really pretty okay. Have been feeling like I'm fighting a cold the last week. never seem to get quite enough sleep. People call in the mornings before I've had my eight hours, then I can't get back to sleep again. But otherwise, I'm well enough. The infection in my chest is continuing a gradual retreat, slowly but surely I . am . winning. That's a very good thing. Wife is supportive as always.

Really, everything is going well. The reason I've not been around here as much the last week, other than feeling generally tired from fighting a cold, is because mom is visiting. This is her first visit since my heart attack two years ago, so we're especially happy to have her here. She leaves first week of December.

I have been tickled to see the board slow down but survive even when I can't post much. It is great having you and Pikes here to carry the slack. ...ramble, ramble, ramble...

Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts, dear Jen.

Love,
Xer

Okay, ya' lost me on that climb, buddy. Sorry.

Laughter? Oh my, yes. Life without laughter is mere existence. Without John Stewart and Steven Colbear_t I would have withered up and blown away by now. Laughter and love, funny how two such important words both start with an 'L.' Let's see, Lana Lang? Lois Lane? Hum, maybe Supey was on to something after all?

As for neocons... eeew, now I need to go wash my mouth out with soap! I used to be an old fashioned Republican, Pikes, though I did suffer periods of raging liberalistic madness. Think it was part of growing up. Nowadays? I don't know what I am anymore, except darn glad Barack Obama and Joe Biden won the election. McCain/Palin would have pretty much been the last nail in the coffin neo-clowns had build around America. Neo-clowns are NOT real conservatives.

Just don't have time for the petty bickering online anymore, but darn glad for the friends I've made along the internet path. Will go read your linked thread now and see if I laugh?

Be well.

Above 17,000 feet, you can't get enough oxygen to rebuild and recover the damage from any exertion at or above that altitude. Consequently the body begins to deteriorate. One cannot live above that altitude for any extended period of time. Above 26,000 feet is called the Death Zone.

I too am, or was, an old fashioned republican conservative. The party changed, and I don't recognise what it became. Many of those who call themselves conservatives, and republicans apparently don't understand much. They let others think and make decisions for them.

Laughter forces rapid oxygenation of the body, with the impact of deep breaths, followed by forceful expulsions of built-up carbon dioxide that cleanse the system and reinvigorate metabolism.

After a good laugh, you feel better, because you "detoxified."

" "detoxified." "

I love it Pikes. At one time I had the pleasure of working with an optical engineer who could come up with new meaningless words that sounded too real to challenge. I think that the two of you would have had a ball together.

I love puns. All play on words, and the associative creativity. I am waiting for some neocon to stumble upon the obvious politcally incorrect pun to occur on January 20, 2009. If and when that occurs, I have a hilarious counter pun with which to kick their butts and keep them sore for a month of Sundays. Why the laughter from that alone might just cure cancer.

hehe...I once had a curmudgeonly colleague who said "Puns are the lowest form of humor...if they are humor."  I think his humerous was broken...hehe

Wow, do I need new glasses again already??? How on earth did I not see message #5 AT ALL yesterday?! "Curious," said Alice.

Similarity between the words, pun and fun, should not be blithely overlooked.
