I was at the gym when you called, and I had my phone off.  Your # didn't register on my missed calls list...so...either email me or call tomorrow?

Is it tomorrow yet? If my number didn't show up on your phone, how did you know when I called? <scratching head icon?>

My wife has the phone right now, but I hope to have it after lunch. Will call you again then. Since my phone broke (like dead(!) lost all my numbers ) we phonepool now.

I know you called because you spoke on my voicemail

If my phone had been on, then it would have registered your #...but because the phone was totally off, it didn't.

Sorry, got my threads crossed.

Okay, I've got the phone now, but am headed to cardio-therapy for the next hour and a half. Then I'll be back home for a shower. Okay if I call you between 5:30 and 6:00 PM tonight?

We've got several people planning for Thanksgiving. The step-son and my niece from Texas will be cooking for us oldsters this year. Is that cool, or what? My wife and mom are loving it. Anyway, the kids should about have their shopping lists ready for us, so we can start accumulating the feedbags for next week.

Tried to call you again yesterday evening. Again left a message I'd called. Did the phone number register on your cell this time?

T'was certainly a pleasure for me, Jen. Afraid I'm not much of a phone-conversationalist (totally unlike my younger sister who has one installed in her ear--a phone, not a conversationalist). It is interesting, neither my wife nor I care much for telephones, except as tools. But, you kept me interacting for quite a while today until the mountains cut us off for the last time...

I remember when meeting some of the old Apathon gang up in Seattle once for drinks and BS'ing, can't remember anymore whether it was Porter or Ragman, but one of the guys had a cell phone and Alizarinred called. Happily chatting with all the other guys for quite a spell she finally asked to talk to me. After replying dumbly, 'hello?' I couldn't think of anything else to say. (eep!) I think she got a bad impression of me at that time. Do believe that was the first time in my life I'd held a cell phone too.

Hope I wasn't that lame today too, Jen. I really tried hard to think of stuff to say.

Aw Xer...and here I thought you'd think I was a yapper!!!  hehe...I found our conversation most enjoyable...really.  I've lost most of my fondness for cell-phone talking too...in fact...I really don't call many folk.  So...YOU'RE IN THE CLUB!  It just felt like (in the words of Frost) 'way led onto way'...

Looking forward to that cuppa ...you're a gem
