Get a huge thick Shell or NY Sirloin Steak, 2.5 to 3 pounds.  Place on broiler pan with slits and dripping pan underneath.

 

Heat oven to 400 degrees for 10 minutes.  Place steak in oven and bake for 20 minutes. 

Remove from oven and spread with 1/2 jar of Heinz Chili Sauce (it's sweet - doesn't taste like Chili really) and then top with chopped onions and mushrooms, or chopped onions and green peppers. 

 

Return to hot oven and bake 20 minutes more until onions are sizzling/ browning. .     Ends of steak will be medium-well and center of steak will be medium rare.   Leave steak 5 more minutes if you like it medium- to well done. 

 

Serve steak by cutting into slices (like thick slices of London Broil only better. ) Add salt & pepper to taste.  Also good sliced cold for steak sandwiches.
