I have no friends when I need em to lean on.....  no love here.
I am sure I will get an Archie CD, so then  I will feel better.
My thing with Cook is, I KNOW he can sing in a style I like, such as Music of the Night.  It was actually my favorite song from the season.  Since the American public only likes screaming, that's what his CD will be.  So I won't be listening.  But lil ole me don't matter.....

Try YOUTUBE, Loretta. Archie is all over the place there. The video of him at home at the piano is nice. Enjoy your summer.

And stay tuned. Daddy Archie has demanded a recount. Watch TMZ, could be a fun summer. It ain't over til Clive lets Kelly Clarkson back into the fold.

Sorry Loretta....   I was and still am a big Carrie Underwood fan...  and she has been trashed since season 4...  on several boards...  you just have to either ignore stuff or deal when they are on a roll and your favorite isn't getting nice things said....    I liked Kristy Lee Cook and if she is signed to a country label,  will probably buy her CD,  but....  in the end,  I preferred David Cook over David Archuleta because David A,  as perfect as he sang,  it was always the same...  and he bored me...  but,  am sorry you had to suffer alone...  been there and it isn't fun...

I saw Keith Urban with Carrie Underwood and had third row seats.  It was a wonderful concert.  I know David Cook can do more than scream, and I wish I could smack his hand when his album comes out and that's all it is.  Just really sad  about Archie.

On an off note, how many times has your fave won?  For me Just two?

And Cook

Everyone else?

I loved Clay, Bo and Melinda and didnt watch S1...

Last year was the hardest for me because my Fave wasnt in the Finale and I really had no fave in S3.

Loretta -- Don't feel alone!  I love Archie.  I think he's fantastic.  I wouldn't at all have minded if he won!  His singing really moved me the other night.  He's going to be a big success (in my opinion of course).

Loretta -
Of course you have friends here.   But what makes this place fun is that not everyone likes the same contestants.  I hated Taylor in Season 5 and it seemed everyone here loved him.

Like milajoy, this is only the second time that my favorite has won - but my other favorite winner - Kelly Clarkson!  So it has been a while for me.  I was a Chris Daughtry fan and a Clay fan.  My other favorites were Bo (but I had no expectations that he would actually beat Carrie) and Blake (but again had no expectations that he would beat Jordin).

Archie will have a cd out for you to buy soon enough.  But having heard David Cook's pre-idol cd - which I can only assume will be at least somewhat representative of his post-idol cd, and actually quite good  -  I doubt he'll be classified as a screamer.  Don't discount it just because of what you think it might be.

My main all time favorite is Bo and my next fav is Fantasia. And now David Cook. So only two of my favs made it to the end. David A. has a great voice but he's just not my cup of tea. I'm sure he will do well in his career.

So is there anywhere I can hear Cook's pre-idol stuff, that isn't screaming?   You see once I heard Music of the Night, I knew that young man was capable of good stuff.  Then he goes back to the screaming music.  Of course I am a Clay fan too.  I am going to see Bo in concert this summer.  Now when I saw Bo in concert  in Portsmouth, he did plenty of music that was not screaming.  Bo can do it all, sing, play, entertain, write.  He has everything.

Loretta,  am sure Archie is going to have a great CD when it comes out...  and it won't be manipulated by the Idol machinery.  For that matter,  wouldn't surprise me in the least if he is signed by 19 too....

Favorites that have won:   Picked both Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood from their auditions and was a fan all season of both...  since then,   I haven't backed a winner,  but....  some of my favorites are winners in their own right...  Josh Gracin and  Bucky Covington.  Others that I have liked,  haven't even come out with a CD yet...  so,  it will be interesting to see what they do...  if anything...

Oh yeah, I like Josh Gracin nd Bucky too.  I was really impressed with Bucky at the finale for that year.   I really didn't like Daughtry so much on the show, but DID like him at the AI concert.  I actually have Daughtry's CD but haven't listened to it yet!   I don't want to be screamed at!   That year I was expecting to love Elliott in the concert but was a bit dissapointed.  I am an Elliott fan for sure thought.  So sometimes you like things presented one way and not another.  Carrie was great in concert when I saw her this Spring, but I don't like the lastest single 'Last Dance'.  I much prefer her singing "Jesus got the Wheel".   With Cook, I am going to want to smack  his hand because I know he is capable of singing good stuff, but probably won't do it.  Just like when my kids bring home a C when they are capable of an A.  I can't see America buying a CD of Cooks with at least ONE song having the calaber of Music of the Night.   He will be called "boring" if  he does that, so all you will hear is screaming "non-boring" music.  But I will know he can do it.

Hi Loretta

David A was on the news just now and was asked if it was a huge letdown to lose by 12 million votes after the judges had built him up so much the night before.

He said that it wasn't a letdown at all. "It was a relief actually.  How would you feel if you won something instead of your big brother?"  He said that he has looked up to David Cook all season and that it would have felt like just a popularity contest if the "younger brother" had won over his more accomplished brother.

He said that after the summer tour,  he would really like to go back and finish his final year of high school.

THAT IS ONE CLASSY KID THAT LORETTA IS SO FOND OF !
David Archuleta and David Cook

Loretta, Hello! LOL I was for David A. too. I was disappointed but I am ok with it because he will be a success with that great voice of his. The last time my fave won was Ruben (don't hate me Clay fans!). My daughter loved Fantasia but I just thought she was so so, but I had to vote for her for my daughter. Since then, all my faves have not won. I loved Bo, then I was for Daughtry and after he was voted off I stopped watching. I didn't even watch last year!!! I wasn't going to watch this year, but they had such great talent, I got hooked again. So no you are not alone, I was an Archie fan like you and will continue to be. I like David C. as well and I am sure he will do better things off the show than he did on. Here's a round of drinks on me!
