(niv) Psalms 54:5 - Let evil recoil on those who slander me; in your faithfulness destroy them.

May my enemies' plans for evil be turned against them. Do as you promised and put an end to them.
(kjv) Psalms 54:5 - He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.
Summary:
What we have intended for others may blow up in our own faces. To be honest and straightforward before God and others is simpler, easier, and safer in the long run.
