Today's Scripture *November 19, 2008*
Psalm 27: 14
Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.
David knew from experience what it meant to wait for the Lord. He has been anointed king at age 16 but didn't become king until was was 30. During the interim, he had been chased through the wilderness by jealous king Saul. David had to wait on God for the fulfillment of His promise to reign. Later, after becoming king, he was chased by his rebellious son, Absalom.
Waiting for God is not easy! Often it seems that He isn't answering our prayers or doesn't understand the urgency of our situation. That kind of thinking implies that God is not in control or is not fair. But God is wroth waiting for. Lamentations 3: 24-26 I say to myself, The Lord is my inheritance; Therefore, I will hope in him! The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.
We are called to hope in and wait for the Lord because often God uses times of waiting to refresh, renew, and teach us. Make good use of your waiting time by discovering what God may be trying to teach you in them.
Father, we thank You for Your perfect timing!
Help us to wait patiently and to use those times to soak up all the wisdom and knowledge You are teaching us though waiting on You.
You, God in Heaven, are well worth waiting for! We worship You and adore You! We lay our lives down before You! How we love You!
In the Name of Jesus we pray, Amen..
Blessings,
April
