Today's "Marriage" Scripture *November 22, 2008*

Proverbs 5: 18
Let your wife be a fountain of blessing for you.
Rejoice in the wife of your youth.

April and I got married very young, the theme song for our wedding was 'Forever Young'. Little did we know that 16 years later we would still be feeling 'Forever Young'. This doesn't happen by accident though, it takes a lot of work.

Just imagine the hot dry desert in the middle east at the time of Solomon's writing the book of Proverbs. Without water there is no survival. Farmers couldn't grow crops, water animals or quench the thirst of their employees. The value of a fountain of water was priceless. So the farmer would dig a well, protect it and maintain it.
Notice Solomon tells us to 'Let' your wife'...make the choice, allow it to happen; then Solomon tells us. 'Rejoice in the wife of your youth.'

April and I make a point of keeping our relationship young. We date at least once a week, we keep things different and interesting. Flirt with one another, whisper sweet something's in each others ears, take time to reflect on the fun you have shared and plan more fun.

Let your wife be a fountain of blessing for you.
Rejoice in the wife of your youth.

Gentleman, sweep her off her feet and God will give you a fountain of blessing.

Glorious Father, You are so generous. Thank You for our wives, help us to bring the water to the surface. May her heart be unlocked as we revel in youthful love. In Jesus' Name.
