Today's "Marriage" Scripture by Jason Hunt *December 13, 2008*

1 John 4: 18
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

Early in our marriage, it was important for April to be liked by everyone. She was afraid people wouldn't like her. She wasn't self-confident and I didn't make her feel secure in who she was.
Once God began to teach me how to love my wife, her confidence began to grow. She began to dream and have visions and goals! As God's love for us is perfect (unconditional) we don't have to fear for anything! The knowledge of His eternal love for us allows us to go with confidence and do His work.
Once I began to strive for loving my wife unconditionally, the perfect love of God unlocked the gifts in April that provide the Scripture devotions that she sends out daily.

Lord, You are perfect! We need not fear as your every breath is for our benefit.
Lord, give us the ability to love one our wives like you love the Church. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
