Today's Scripture *December 19, 2008*

Isaiah 33:1
What sorrow awaits you Assyrians, who have destroyed others
But have never been destroyed yourselves.
   You betray others,
But you have never been betrayed.
   When you are done destroying,
      You will be destroyed.
   When you are done betraying,
      You will be betrayed.
?
Assyria continually broke it's promises but demanded that others keep theirs.
It is easy to put ourselves in the same selfish position, demanding our rights while ignoring the rights of others. Broken promises shatter trust and destroy relationships. Determine to keep your promises; at the same time, ask forgiveness for past promises you have broken. Treat others with the same fairness that you demand for yourself.

God, help us to keep our word!
May we look to Your Word for advice and guidance on relationships.
Help us to treat those we are in contact with, with the same respect, honestly, and commitment that we ourselves demand.
In Jesus' Name, Amen..

Bless you!
April
