A friend of ours, a child of God, has left this world behind
We did not know the pain he felt or the suffering in his mind
We knew he loved his daughters and he worked hard to provide
Life just seems so harsh sometimes, but we know how hard he tried
Only God can know the heart and thoughts of each one of His own
And Steve is with our Saviour now and has found his eternal home
For God's mercy covers all our days and His love will never end
So we say "so long" to our brother Steve, until we meet again.
