I found out something unsettling today, and I am seeking prayers for three individuals.
The younger sister of my daughter-in-law recently gave birth to two boys, twins. One of the boys was significantly underweight and is being kept in the hospital because of that. The other boy had to be transferred to the local children’s hospital for major heart surgery.
The boys?mother is presently staying at a local "House" so she can visit with her children.
The father of the boys, and I am glad to say at this point not the husband of their mother, has visited his children only once, and that was the day they were born. He did not even check on his son after the heart surgery.
Due to particular health problems of the maternal grandmother, my daughter-in-law has been driving over 100 miles a day to take her sister back and forth to the two hospitals. [Since we have just found out, my wife and I will start to assist in this area.]
My prayer request is four fold:
1. Prayer for the small boy to gain weight and body functions so he may
go home soonest.
2. Prayer for the boy who has had the heart surgery so there will be no
need for further surgery a couple of years from now.
3. Prayer for their mother so she may regain her strength, and be able to
take her children home soonest.
4. Prayer for the boys?father so he may come to the realization that he
needs to accept his responsibilities to his children and the mother of his
children.
I have known the mother of these boys since she was about 12. Yes, she has made some significant mistakes in her life, just as we all have. With that said, I know she has taken the higher road and did not have an abortion when she found out she was pregnant ( even though the father actively sought her to do so). She also had to spend the last two months in the hospital before their birth due to complications with her pregnancy. I also know that she has sought forgiveness for her sins.
I’d like to say more, but I think I have said enough, other then if you belong to a "Prayer Chain" at your local Church, or if your local church has one, kindly ask them to pray for these individuals and their situations.
Respectfully, in His service
Pastor Tom
