I recieved an email from many of the US troops involved in the election process in Iraq. Their chaplain requests that we pray for those people.
Scripture to concider:
2Ki 6:17
And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
My Prayer:
Eternal Father, we offer you the body and the blood, soul and divinity of your dearly beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Who atoned for our sin, and those of the whole world.
For the sake of your sorrowful passion, have mercy on us, and on the whole world. Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on the people of Iraq.
Rain down your loving favor, and saving Grace over the homes, desert places, cities and hearts of the Iraqi people who long for truth and freedom in a new hope of democracy for their country.
Sweet Jesus, we ask that you intercede with legions of angels, and we ask that you open the eyes of the world that they may know your love. We thank you loving and merciful Jesus for your blessings, may your will be realized for the people of Iraq.
Amen
