It’s time for me to make an enormous request of you.  Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with a recurrence of leukemia three weeks ago. While I am receiving excellent care at UCLA, and hope to achieve remission shortly, the fact is I need a bone marrow transplant.  And this is my request:<O:P></O:P>

The reality is that I will only match with a Caucasian woman: Jewish more likely than non-Jewish.  That said, there are many people in need of blood and bone marrow.  Your donation may provide another family with a needed match and change their lives forever.<O:P></O:P>
