Dear Friends and Family,

It’s time for me to make an enormous request of you. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with a recurrence of leukemia three weeks ago. While I am receiving excellent care at UCLA, and hope to achieve remission shortly, the fact is I need a bone marrow transplant. And this is my request:

The amazing people at Temple Isaiah in conjunction with Bikur Cholim and UCLA are sponsoring a blood and bone marrow drive on my behalf. If you can participate by donating blood and testing for a bone marrow match, I would be enormously appreciative. Details and reservations are available at http://www.bikurcholim.net/BikurCholim/Site/Blood/

If you can donate, thank you a million times in advance. If you cannot make the June 27th date, please contact Bikur Cholim for alternate dates or visit http://www.marrow.org/ to view the National Marrow Donor Program web site and the choices that are available through that amazing organization.

The reality is that I will only match with a Caucasian woman: Jewish more likely than non-Jewish. That said, there are many people in need of blood and bone marrow. Your donation may provide another family with a needed match and change their lives forever.

My last request, if you can please forward this email to as many people as possible, particularly those living in proximity to Temple Isaiah, (10345 W. Pico, LA, 90064), friends and family who are Jewish, and anyone who just might be inclined to donate on the 27th or through the National Marrow Donor Program, my family and I would be appreciative.

I hate asking favors, but if there’s one time when it really counts, this is it! Thank you so much! Yvonne
