Hi, everyone,

First let me say I am glad to be a part of this new Christian community.  I'm giving my testimony in hopes that is will help someone in their walk with the Lord, or if they don't know Him, it will bring them to Him.

About 9 yrs. ago, I was living on the streets of Long Beach, CA., a suburb of L. A.  I was a heroin junkie, and supported my habit by means of  prostitution.  I was as down low as people get.  I had dropped out of society, and was in full rebellion.  One night, I got arrested for prostitution, and did a 45 day stay at L. A. County Jail for Women called Cybil Brand Institution.  While I was there, the Gideons were at the lunch line handing out Bibles, and I took one, thinking that at least I would have something to read, and the time would pass faster.  When I got back to my bunk, I started reading, and when I got to Romans

10:8, where it says if ;you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and beleive in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved, I God gave me enough faith to believe, and I prayed for God to forgive me of my sins, and ;for Him to come into my life right there in jail.  From that point on, my life began to change.  I was able to leave L. A. and come to Missouri, where I now have a nice home, with 2 wonderful, saved , kids, and a loving church family.  There have been lots of trials along the way, but the Lord Jesus has been with us every step of the way.  I've walked with Him (sometimes He has carried me!) the best that I know how, and He has done the rest!  He will change your life and your death if you let Him.  In this life He will forgive, sanctify, justify, and fill you with His Holy Spirit.  And in the next life, He will give you a mansion with streets of gold, and and eternity with Him.  What a deal!!!!
