I used the Butterfly offered with the PSP 8 Picture Tube Tool.

Take the Butterfly on a New Image with these settings:
300
300
Transparent: checked
Put the Butterfly right in the center of your canvas.

Now you go to Animation Shop
Effects / Insert Image Effect
The settings are: Noise Intensity: 67... Noise Opacity: 50 ... Noise Type: Grey... OK.

Hun, I've been trying to get my animation to work.  I have psp 9.
I bring that up and then launch animation from there but they don't seem to be connect with my pics etc.  I haven't work with psp enough to know off hand how to fix this.   I just wanted you to know that I am trying to start : )    Hugs~T

Claire:
With your butterfly animation "blinking", all you need to do is delete the first frame.
Steps to fixing this:
First highlight the very first frame. (It will not have any animation at all.) You must delete it or the animation will keep showing the one frame that is not animated. That's it. Then repost your image.
Excellent work sugar.

Tammy:
You can follow the same steps with your PSP 9 as you would with the PSP 8.
Are you doing the Copy / Paste to the Animation Shop? This is what I did.

When you get to Animation Shop:
Effects... Insert Image Effect...
Effects: Noise
Define Effects Length: 0.6 secs.
Frames per second: 9 fps.
Effects contains a total of 5 frames. OK

(For when you get to Animation Shop)

Screen Shots

Effects... Insert Image Effect

Insert Image Effect for the Noise settings:
Define effect... Effect Length: 0.6 secs. Frames per second: 9 fps. Effect contains a total of 5 frames....OK.

File... Optimization Wizard

Optimized Output
Optimize for: Animated GIF File... When finished: Replace the current animation with the optimized version... Next

Animation Quality Versus Output Size

You must click on the Colors tab.
Number of colors: 255 colors... Create palette by: Optimized Octree... Reduce colors by... Error Diffusion

Optimizations

Partial Transparency
Convert pixels less than 63 ... (24.7% opacity to full) Would you like to blend the partially transparent pixels? Yes, blend with this color: white... OK.

Now just follow through with the Next button.... Next... Finish.

Hopefully this will help you out, if your still stuck we can keep at it until we are happy. Don't worry Tammy we will make it.

Post your results if this worked for you Tammy.
Thanks

Tammy:
I love your drive. When I first started learning the program I would get so stressed out trying to learn it. At one point I was about to quit and concede to failing. Then I snapped out of it and forced myself to hang in there. Now here I am 5 years later and I am teaching the program. "This is what drive can do for you." Keep at it sugar, you have potential to be a great student.

Hello Claire:
This is very cool. Keep up the good work.
The lessons are going to be available as soon as the introduction to the program is completed.
Thanks for your patience.
Ingrid
