Thank you for allowing me to join the group.
A little introduction about me, just a warning that this may be a trigger for some. My parents wanted a perfect daughter and unfortunately to them they got me and my twin sister. My sister and I were both dressed up and made into dolls for beauty pageants since we were infants. When we were 5 my sister began to throw fits, she did not want to be a doll anymore, and she did not want "Mommy's and Daddy's surprise for doing a good job" anymore either. I began to act out when we were 6. We both hated it, we were made to compete against each other.
The one who placed higher would get "Mommy's and Daddy's surprise." The surprise was always something sexual. She would get told how beautiful she was and how proud Mommy and Daddy were.
The one who placed lower would get beat, have the garbage in our garbage can outside dumped on her, have to clean up the garbage, and then put in a dog kennel in the basement for several days. The only food the one who was getting punished would get was a cracker and a cup of water for breakfast and a slice of bread and cup of water for dinner. She would be told how ugly and fat she was and how much of a disappointment she was to the family.
My sister and I did not go to a public school until we were 12 years old. We were told that we were not allowed to talk about what went on at home. We were given stories to reherse every night to tell anyone who might ask us about our bruises. We only got a few questions, as our Mom would cover us up in make up and make us go to school looking like dolls. The other students would make fun of us because of how dressed up Mom and Dad would make us be. We were taken out of public schools and went back to home schooling when we were 15 years old after my sister tried to tell a concilor one of our stories about the belt marks on her back. I had not known that they had talked to my sister, when they called me into the room and asked me what happened. My sister and I told them two different stories. Somehow Mom and Dad were able to convince social workers and the police that we were safe, and the next day they pulled us out of school, and we moved, never returned to school again.
I will stop here, I am sorry this is long, I started typing and just kept going I guess. Hope this is okay.
Thank you for letting me join the group,
