Hi all...OK, I just downloaded the Zone Alarm for IM protection, but it says it's only good for 30 days! Is that right Don? What is that you said Carol might need? You mean in order to use the zone alarm for IM I need to have the zone alarm firewall too? I don't have it, and from what I understood from someone was that if I have sp2 on my computer I am safe from that yahoo worm or whatever that's out to get IM users...I'm so cornfused now, i don't know what to do...If it's only good for 30 days unless I pay for it, why should I have downloaded it in the first place, except that it is good for 30 days I guess, right? Good grief, I hate being a dummy here, but it is all so confusing isn't it??? Ahhhhhhhhh me!!! Oh well, I can't worry about that right now! Just wanted to say I love you all and hope you're having a wonderful holiday weekend...Oh, I read that you got your webcam already Carol, boy, that was so quick wasn't it??? I'm like Jenny, never have heard of anything moving that quickly through the mail service...Wow! You must have done something good to deserve such swift service, huh??? lmao Good for you! OK, I'm done talking now, or should I say typing now, lmao??? Love you all, Dee...... |

Good morning Jenny, you're up awfully early, or have you even been to bed yet??? LOL OK, that's the one I have all right, I must have misread the thing...I'm sure glad I did, I wanted to make sure I had the right one though! I'm worn out Sweetheart and I'm going to bed...I'm sure glad you posted this and I saw it before I went to bed, otherwise I would've gone to bed thinking I had the wrong darn thing on my puter, bless you woman...I love you big! LOL I hope you have a wonderful day now, and hopefully I'll get to talk to you tomorrow (by tomorrow I mean Sunday Sweetheart),OK? I know Ian comes tomorrow and it'll be harder to catch you, but maybe we can get it together sometime during the day...OK? Nite nite, Dee.... |

Good morning, ladies. Out in the kitchen here.. Yes, Dee, dump the "trial" version and look around for Zone Alarm-"free for personal use". I have SP2 on the big machine also, but this ZA IM add-on "encrypts" our typing back and forth to each other, so any nasties out there, trying to hack into our typing and add chit we dont want, gets nothing or garbage on their screen. Thats the main purpose of it.
Carol, lets get that sucka running, ma'am...lol.
G'morning, love. Yes, kinda early, but lawd, did I sleep. Coulda set a bomb off next to me..no response...lol. Tried the patio with this thing, but our flat face due east, like I mentioned last night, so mr. rising sun made it a bit tuff to see the screen, so here we are..lol. |

My goodness, run in to p and out for a fag and everyone sneaks in...lol. Told ya I'm a slow typer....lol.
Carol, I would get the ZA "freebie", because I read that the Winnders FW only blocks stuff incoming or outgoing, one or the other, not both (forget which). ZA blocks both. I believe the winnders FW can be "disabled", not sure how to do that (didnt do it here). Yes, not much help...lol, but thats what I did. Only PITA , when you first get it, is each time you open any internet program, a warning flag will pop up telling you that "IE..(or whatever) is asking for internet access...Allow or Deny?" course, ya tap "Allow" and "remember this" so it doesnt keep coming up each time ya open that program. After a while, they're all remembered and no more msgs....and you're protected. |

Ahhh, very good, Carol. I forgot if ZA disabled winnders FW or not..guess it does. Learn sumptin every day. Well, now, why dont we try to install the camera? All ya should have to do is plug it in to the USB port and let winnders find it. When the "Found new hardware" wizard pops up, find the "Have disk" option, pop in the installation CD and go from there. |
