Hi Jojo....This is the method I use.....hope it helps you

 

Magic Wand......Add Shift / RGB Value/ Tol 10/20( I usually sent mine at 15.) / Feather 0 / Outside checked.

 

After removing background.....Select all / Sel Float /Sel defloat / Sel modify- remove specks and holes. 

 

Selections Invert/ Sel Modify - Feather by 2...Hit the delete key twice.

 

When finished add a layer, move it to the bottom and flood fill.  This will show you how clean you have it.  Then delete thos layer.
