"Spicy Oatmeal Cookies"

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup old fashioned oats
1 cup swirled milk chocolate & caramel chips
1/2 cup flaked coconut

They only need to add when they make the cookies at home;
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg
3/4 tsp vanilla

 In a small bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients. They can add the additional ingredients when they make the cookies at home. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 325~f. till golden brown. About 12-15 minutes.
 In a 1-quart jar, layer the flour mixture, brown sugar, sugar, oats, chips & coconut, packing well between each layer. Cover with lid & decorate with a pretty ribbon/bow. Get a little index/recipe card & write the recipe on it, & attach it to the jar.
Can be stored in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
Makes 1 batch
