Southern Pecan Pie
1 cup sugar
1 1/4 cups dark corn syrup
4 eggs, slightly beaten
4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pinch salt
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
Boil sugar and syrup together 3 minutes. Beat eggs with whisk. Pour hot mixture over beaten eggs. Add butter, vanilla, and nuts.
Bake in unbaked pie shell at 350ºF for 35 minutes or until pie is set
