Do you think an inmate on death row should be given an organ transplant ? Please be respectful of others comments even if you do not agree - remember , everyone has a right to their own opinion. |

No I don't- there are so many people waiting for transplants that to give one to someone who is facing death is such a waste. Also the cost of a transplant can go into the hundreds of thousands of dollars that the states and the taxpayer is going to eventually pay for. Carol |

I am inclined to agree with Carol. The person on death row is there for taking a life, they are being kept by tax payers, some of whom may also benefit from a transplant. Is there not a quote from the bible? "An eye for an eye. Maggie |

Well we don't have death row here in the U.K. I think there could be a lot of problems from the general public if someone in their family was on a waiting list for a transplant, and a criminal took precedence. I do not think anyone should suffer pain from an illness whatever they have done though, criminal or not. Phil |

I have to agree with the ladies. It's awful to say, but, if there waiting to die being on death row, I don't think that a transplant should be given to them seeing that facing death anyway. It's sad no matter how we look at it. Hate to see anyone suffer, but, if I had my choice, I would give it to a person that has a chance to live longer. Sandy |

Like Britain, we don't have death row, our prisoners get life sentences. I have to agree though with the others, I wouldn't want organs going to people who have killed others. Pammy. |

If they are on DEATH ROW, they are going to die, they are there for a reason, they should die in pain as they have caused others to die, I have no sympathy for murders'. sorry....... they are on death row let them die in pain. |

Sorry, but what a waste of a life if they give an organ to a death row inmate. Why should a good law abiding citizen not get the chance to continue to live? |

No..... I don't think any death row inmate should receive a transplant. WHY prolong a life that is sentenced to die?? And on that subject.... and I hope this doesn't offend anyone.... if they were found guilty and sentenced to death.... then DO IT!! Don't let them sit there for 20 years or more and let us pay for it. WOLFIE |
