We heat with gas,this house is a funny hodge podge,the living room was built 1900,it was a railroaders cabin,our woodstove is exactly where a stove was always.In the 70's & 80's this was a postoffice they had a stove for heating the lobby.So I find that in winter it throws great heat saving on gas.I find even though the walss are thick sometimes we get a cool area in a room.I ordered a ceramic oscillating heater,so also to save on gas rather than cranking the furnace up.
