We started making weekly menus, then we shop for what we need to make the dinners on the menu, this works for us as we don't get things we don't NEED for meals.
I look for meat deals as far as the stores we have in town, and we don't have an Aldi's, the closest is an hour away :o( Walmart is usually cheapest on most things, but now and again one of the other stores will have a sale on something cheaper than walmart, but if you bring in the ad Walmart will give you the same product for the sale price at the other store so you don't have to run all over the place.
We do have a Butternut shop where you can get loaves of bread and stuff cheaper than the store so we go there too. We also have a few dented can stores that we shop at and the deals are GREAT! Name brand stuff and even some imported things that you would pay out the ear for, for at least half the price or less!
Speaking of which, I have to shop today :o( UGH this is really sucking, and yes, we are all feeling it! With 3 teens in the house and 4 dogs, I hope things get better soon, but not counting on it!
Oh, and we have an Orschlens here, can get Diamond food for about $18 a 40# bag, not bad at all!
