Ok I am a single mom and have had to learn how to budget really well with some of the jobs I have had in the past. I also used all the resources that were available to me while I was in nursing school to just make it. So here are some of my tips for all.
1. Make a list of all the basic monthly bills (rent, water/elect/phone ect)
2. Figure out how much you need to put back out of each pay check so that by the end of month you have all the money set aside for bills.
3. If you are like me and just cant control your spending when you have money got and buy a money order each check for the portion of the bill you are putting back. That way you cant spend it.
4. Shop smart. Done try to make everything for scratch use the pre packaged things.
5. Shop for clothing at resale shops, garage sales and goodwill to save money.
6. If you dont have money for a bill that month or you cant afford food go to a local charity and ask for assistance you will be suprized how willing that are to help when you are in need.
7. Instead of using ground beef switch to ground pork, chicken or turkey they are half and price and are better for you health.
8. Find the store with the cheapest prices and shop there most of the time it is not a store like Krogers or albertsons.
9. Something I loved was a cook book one of my friends gave me and it is one that every recipe have 5 ingredient's or less and it is great. I play with the spices but the food is great.
9. If you have a small family most of the stores have started carrying complete meals in the fresh meat section. Like pot roast and it have everything meat, veggies, and seasoning packs that you need. And they taste GREAT !!
10. Also buy store brand instead of the name brand they taste the same and cost a lot less.
11. For you dog food buy in bulk. Figure how many bags you will use in one month and buy in bulk you will get a discount.

It can be fun to find ways to cut corners and save money just use your brain and you will be suprized what you will come up with.
