I've always wondered if my big, goofy lover-boy would protect me, if the occasion arrived. Well, last night he proved he would! My neighbor came over, Jack has only met this man twice, and it was while we were on walks, and only in a quick hello kind of way. Leroy has never made any attempt to come up to Jack. Jack was very friendly to him, however, Jack made sure he postioned himself between me and Leroy the whole time. He stayed for a couple of hours, and Jack did this the whole time. It was so reassuring that Jack had the instinct to know that Leroy wasn't a threat, but that "daddy" wasn't home so he had to make sure momma was ok... I'm so proud of my boy.

What a good boy Jack, I often wonder the same about Gus. Should the occasion arise would he protect me or his daddy. I must say I would doubt it as he hides behind me if there is a stray paper bag blowing down the street and if a leaf falls in the pool he gets most upset until its removed LOL. However, I hope I never have to find out for sure. It must be very re-assuring to know you have a body guard.

It is reassuring.. And I am so glad that I found out like this, instead of a real situation...

Ha Ha,
I don't think Modoc would do anything either.  He's so trusting of people he'd
probably figure any attack was a game and just want to play, lol,

Right on Jack!

They always seem to pick up on what's going on whether they look like they are paying attention or not.

If Zap feels someone is not quite right he will step in between myself and them and provide a barrier.  Not aggressive just won't let them get to me without my giving him the OK.

Seems to come very naturally for them.
