I just wanted to thank everyone from chat last night I was able to go home with a clear head, and do what I set out to do. We made a HUGE progress last night it took a few times of gettin ghim to come to me and praising him etc. finally at one point he was laying there at the foot of the couch and the little black cat his biggest tormenter walked right infront of him stopped on the coffee table as if taunting him like come and get me. He looked at her and looked at me he was still very calm not alert and stalking he was still laying down so I gave him tons of praise and love and the cat was able to walk away through the living room with out a problem he did chase one this morning but I was not in the room so there was no way to correct (I woke up late and was running around like a chicken with my head cut off) but the fact that he recognized what I wanted from him was huge.

Hi, it was great having a chat wasn't it? Thanks for making me welcome.

Gus still has his moments with the new kittie. Sometimes he just runs after the cat and other times he couldn't care less. The cat has managed to get as close as Gus' ear for a sniff whist Gus was having a snooze with one eye open.) I just know in another few months it will be much easier when the cat isn't so much of a novelty. Gus has also learnt that if he doesn't chase he gets lots of pats so I am sure that your boy will get there soon, as Jeri said its still puppy playfullness. It can be stressful though LOL.

yeah its just rally hard remembering that there is a 130 pound puppy. Hubby was kind of having a hard time with it too and I told him to remember that he couldn't stand Gracie at that age too. I'm very happy as I sit here and type this Tank is on the floor Gracie is on the couch next to me and I have two cats on the top of the couch. We spend all night last night following Franks advice and I had him on the leash for two hours last night, so tonight he started getting excited and I grabbed the leash and just showed it too him he laid down. I don't want to make the leash negative so I have a chain leash and I am using that for him for inside the house.
