DO YOU DARE?
Enter, enter... if you dare...
enter into the Dragon's Lair!
Will you be met by ferocious beasts
or monsters dinning on ungodly feasts?
Will the air be heavy and walls splattered with blood?
Will it reek of death and soured mud?
Will darkness and dampness creep into your soul?
Will glowing eyes, your mind, try to control?
Does protection come from some magical sword?
Do Dragons fight whenever they're bored?
Heavens No! Child, where'd you hear that?
You make Dragons sound like some overgrown rat!
Pity the great beasts for understood they're not...
the truth is that dragons are an honorable lot!
Some of the things that the tales tell true
is their ability to fly... and to breathe fire too!
A treasure is safe when its given to one
be it gold or a secret or a sparkle from the sun,
for they're truly magical beings you know!
Friendship is a magnificent gift they bestow
to those with hearts that shine like gold...
but don't try to fool them, they're not easily sold
on false words or deeds or deceptive intent
(which they claim carries with it a putrid scent).
So if you should somehow, somewhere, someday
by chance meet a dragon along the way...
take a chance and look into its eyes
(remember it will know should you tell it lies)
and see the deepness, the compassion, the love...
see the depths of the ocean and the stars up above
and know that a gift has been granted to you
a gift that is granted to only a few.
And know it matters not if it be day or night,
if the sun is shining or you see by moonlight
or even if it should be a dream
with the dragon dancing upon a moonbeam...
for they decide where they shall appear
and who shall see them from far or near.
But should it happen, honor that day...
and be thankful and grateful for what came your way.
So what would you find if you took a dare
and entered into a Dragons Lair?
First of all, I really must say
that usually it doesn't happen that way...
you just can't go looking and happen to find
some trees with a Lair hidden behind...
but should you find one (which would be rare)
have no doubt that the Dragons led you there!
As for what is inside, well, I simply won't tell...
suffice it to say that it is far from the hell
that was mentioned before, way back at the start
for the Lair of the Dragon is filled with its' heart!
