Hi Elly

I have 4 Yorkies ranging in age from 11 months to 15 years.

Mine are not used to children as I have adult sons and not grandchildren but they are fine when im out for walk and children run up to stroke them.  I think because Yorkies are so small your grandchildren would have to learn not to pick them up all the time.  Mine love playing and will chase a ball all day long if they had someone to play with them.  Some people say they are yappy but like any other breed you have to train them right from wrong.

They are prone to teeth problems and also heart problems although I have had 6 yorkies now and none have had problems.

If you want to ask anything else I will try to help.

Sheila

This is photo of Gemma & Tammy.  I keep them clipped quite short as I have 4 of them I find them easier to groom

Hi  Elly

Glad you like the pictures.

No they don't moult so you either have to take them to groomers to have them clipped or do them yourself. Mine have never chewed furniture, shoes etc.  I always give them toys to play with and when they are very young I keep them in crate if im going our or at night.

Mine are all quite small but Gemma is really tiny she only weighs 3.lb but the don't come in different sizes like poodles they just seem to vary in size and the so called tea cup yorkies are often runt of the litter

Lovely pics Sheila they looked great little dogs.  Elly I have a friend who's got 3 yorkies and they are lovely and very good, they jump on your lap when you go there.  I love all dogs and animals and wouldn't be without a dog life's just not the same.  Best of luck in finding your new friend.

Hugs Pat
