Well, I'm certainly not a "hired gun," unless my law enforcement pension counts. LOL
Does 30 years of police work suffice as "research"? It certainly was all done long before the current case began.
Seriously, I do not consider myself an "expert" on DNA, though there are some here, e.g., SirPrize. I was a biochemistry major at uni and was always interested in the subject, dealt with it in many of my cases whilst working, have kept up my reading on the subject since retirement, and have a family member with a degree in microbiology with a concentration in genetics working in the field and living in my household with whom I can consult if I have a question. That's the extent of my knowledge. | |
