These are the very issues the UK media SHOULD research BEFORE producing people like Cooper and swallowing every word she says!
But why let the facts get in the way of a good story and increased sales?!

| I'm sorry but the whole COMARE thing is a total red herring.
It's a sort of knee-jerk reaction to anything with the word 'nuclear' in it.
Gerry's role on that sub committee is to do with the effects of exposure to medical radiation, as used in scans and such. He never sat on the main committee and indeed is not qualified to do so.
It's so interesting to see all the scurrying going on, desperately trying to rubbish people who have made a statement in any way helpful to the McCanns. I sometimes think posters would be happy to call the entire British nation liars if it made the PJ look good.

It will show Jonathan Cooper..Michael S Hall and Gail A Hall living at same
address at some point
Remember...they are not confirmed to be the same people!

| whether gerrybuilt plays a 'large' or influential part of the 'proper' comare panels or whatever they are, is not the point. the point is that he mixes in social and professional networks where he is making contacts with people, just like we all do within our jobs. therefore, if someone he knows, through someone, of a friend of a friend, makes an identification of a 'suspect' in a case where Gerrybuilt is a real suspect, i think that is very suspicious.

In North America an impartial jury of 12 is selected from the public, hopefully they will have no prior knowledge of the case they will be adjudicating. I do not know how the British judicial system works, but I assume it is similar. I started thinking of all the latest developments, a gypsy child disappearing, the presentation of this sketch to the media, all this, soon after it is announced that the Portuguese police are awaiting the response to their formal request to interrogate the couple and their friends. The disappearance of the gypsy child may well be legitimate but you never know. My take on this matter is that all this is to cast doubt in the mind of the public, the same public from which a jury will be selected. I wonder how many impartial minds can be found in Britain after being exposed to this media circus. Because of these developments I believe that the McCanns and their entourage expect that the Portuguese police will lay charges and that this case will go to trial. - 22 January 2008 02:28

Reading most of the internet forums - even those from the biased British media - we can see that most comments are very sceptical towards the McCanns. I think the whole spin is starting to backfire and most people no longer believe in any statements made by Team McCann.
However, I continue to find it frightening that the McCanns still have so much power with the media, despite public opinion being so negative - this sketch was broadcast by all major international TV channels, including CNN, BBC, And of course Sky and its sister FOX.
This means that CM and McC will keep on driving their smearing campaign against Portugal and its police. They won't give up any time soon. - 22 January 2008 09:56

The Sun has removed a couple of details in the above report.
Until recently, Morocco witness Mari Olli Pollard lived in Groby in Leicester with her British husband, Raymond - just several minutes drive from the McCanns in Rothley.
Gerry's Glenfield Hospital is even closer - just 4 miles away. The Hospital is even on Groby Road.
Police are alleged to have established a link between the McCanns and the Pollards.
Aren't there a number of Pollards in Leicestershire who have stood as Liberal Democrat MPs? I saw a Raymond Pollard in a list of candidates online.
Also Gail Cooper (new 'witness') lives in Newark, Nottingham - just a short drive from Latham House Medical Practice in Melton-Mowbray where Kate McCann works as a locum GP.
Coordinators? Sugeries? Locum GP's? Similar witness statements?
Just how many Social and Healthcare workers connected to areas in which the McCanns have lived are likely to come forward as witnesses?
What are the chances of this happening?

I am very troubled by the outrageous media attention given to a man who 'looks like' someone that seems only to have a connection to collecting money for an orphanage! Gail Cooper, after seeing him three times and being able to be so specific about his looks by having him recreated in a sketch (eight months later ) cannot make any positive comment about 'Yes it's him!'...or No!..It isn't him!" If I had a vague memory of someone and they were brought to my attention it is likely to 'click' that I do recall them...If I could remember enough for a picture to be drawn that resembles them then its more than likely that I would be able to confirm whether it is the same person or not. 'Looks like him' and 'spitting image of' tells me it isn't the person....so why is he being treated like he is!? I'm sorry but to place this chap in the media attention because he happens to look like someone, considering its such an important case, seems to be very irresponsible. Im not saying Gail Cooper is lying...there may have been a 'creepy' man ....I am saying that unless she can positively identify him then he should not have to feel he is being accused of murder unless there are other indications!
