Liverpool’S Leading Creative Production Company Stride Forward with Avid DS Nitris Purchase

London - 27-Nov-2003 - Avid Technology Europe Ltd., a subsidiary of Avid Technology,Inc., (NASDAQ: AVID)announces that the Liverpool-based RIVER is the first North-West facility to purchase an Avid DS Nitris�?system. The equipment is to be installed in RIVER’s new offices, The Tea Factory, one of the most sought-after and exclusive developments in Liverpool. The purchase is RIVER’s latest investment in its drive to pioneer Liverpool’s post-production industry. RIVER purchased the Avid DS Nitris system directly from Avid, which will also provide technical support, in a deal created utilising Avid Financial Services.

RIVER works on TV, broadcast, film and corporate projects and, last year, was appointed as the media partner for Liverpool’s “City of Culture�?campaign after impressing the committee with the quality of its work. RIVER’s broad scope of work needed an adaptable solution and the team has been delighted by the versatility offered by the Avid DS Nitris system, which combines deep creative editing and finishing software with the most powerful media processing hardware available.

RIVER is rapidly expanding its creative team with the appointment of David George, former Creative Director at McCann Erickson. George has an international track record and will oversee the company’s commercial offering, allowing RIVER to further its existing offering within the Advertising industry along with its post-production and new media work.
