"PJ did not react officially to the sketch revealed on the press conference organized by McCann’s spoke-men, continuing several diligences in progress. The police force knows when and how Madeleine left the apartment, but also where she would have remained during the first days."
That's Levy Blog !

Daily Mail - 7 Jan. 2008
But yesterday a second Portuguese newspaper, Correio da Manha, claimed blood found in the McCanns' holiday apartment and hire car had been proved to be Madeleine's.
It reported that tests carried out by the Forensic Science Service in Birmingham had proved conclusively that microscopic traces of blood found behind a sofa in the apartment had come from the girl.
And it said samples of bodily fluids found in the Renault Scenic, hired by the McCanns 25 days after their daughter went missing, were also definitely from Madeleine and could not have come from the two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie.
Portuguese police believe the findings support their theory that Madeleine died in an accident in her parents' care and that they hid her body and faked her abduction to cover up her death.

Judicial secrecy seems to have a strange meaning in Portugal. That PJ does seem to need a plumber.

So why don't they just arrest them if they know all this as fact?

How do you know they are not going to?
They have to be allowed in to the country to do that and as far as i know their visit is being delayed
Not sure how these things work, whether the authorities here could arrest by proxy
Someone will know

I wonder when they will be arresting themselves?
But it's the usual suspect 'sources' , as famed for not giving anything substantial, like a fact or a figure. sigh.

If the PJ have leaked info it must be taken into account that this case is extraordinary and crosses national boundaries unlike the type of cases the secrecy system was set up for. You also have to take into account that they are dealing with a campaign team from the McCnn's who are not playing by the rules either. It's a bit miserly to allow one but not the other to stir the s**t.
