Investigation: The PJ admits to ask the couple to return to Portugal
McCann may return
Kate and Gerry McCann and their friends who were with them on holiday in Praia da Luz can be called to come to Portugal. This, despite asking in the rogatoire letters that are about to follow journey to question all the members of the group in England.
"In the letters, which are practically ready and should follow this week, more things can be asked than those things that will be made there," explained to the CM a source connected to the process.
The same source confirmed that it will be asked "to hear the McCanns' and all their friends who have been in Portugal for a holiday", but only "when this steps are made in British soil it will be determined if it is encessary that some of tem return to Portugal,"he said.
"It may be necessary to make any identification or a face to face questioning," he continues, "so it is not true that everyone will be questioned there. The decision will be taken according to the develop of these steps. "
It is good to remember that when they abandoned Portugal, Kate and Gerry McCann ensured that they would return if the national authorities asked them and if this was necessary to research.
Almost guaranteed is that the men of PJ,that are going to Britain to attend interrogations, will only travel next week. "Confirming that the letters will follow this week there is a series of legal procedures to meet until they schedule the voyage," explained the source. It is necessary to coordinate everything with the prosecutor, to send the letters,to wait for authorization from the British authorities, after all this, schedule the travel and hotel of the inspectors.
The PJ is awaiting the final results of the examinations that are being conducted in the Laboratory of Birmingham, but they "are not essential" for the conclusion of the rogatoire letters, assured the quoted source.
In the letters, in addition to requests to speak to the parents of Madeleine, and all the friends who were in Portugal, will be dozens of questions. The interviews will be conducted by the British authorities with the inspectors of PJ attending to the procedure.
SCIENTISTS WANT TO DISTINGUISH BROTHERS
To "distinguish the various members of a family is required greater amount of genetic material," explained to the CM Fatima Pinheiro, specialist of the Institute of Legal Medicine.
Specifying that she does not refer to any specific case or to the tests that are being made in Birmingham, Fatima Pinheiro said that when they analyzed "or the Y chromosomes or mitochondria DNA" the brothers share genetic information. Therefore, to distinguish them we need to study the "genetic autosome markers, nuclear DNA." And while the mitochondria DNA exists in "many copies" in cells, the nuclear is "single copy," says the specialist.
Thus, to distinguish between Madeleine and the two twin brothers, Sean and Amelie, the scientists of the laboratory in Birmingham will have to find nuclear DNA in the samples collected in the Renault Scénic. Only then they can say with certainty that the child was in the car rented by parents 25 days after the disappearance. This when you know that the samples are very small.
DETAILS
DIPLOMAT ALERT
A British diplomat in Portugal alerted the Foreign Office (equivalent to our Ministry of Foreign Affairs) to "inconsistencies" in the McCann-s testimonies, after visiting them in the Algarve, shortly after the disappearance of Maddie. The diplomat said there is "confusing statements" and "lack of cooperation with the Portuguese police".
INVOLVEMENT
In the same letter of warning, revealed by the Belgian newspaper 'La Dernière Heure', the diplomat asked: "Confirm me if we want to be involved in the case, as requested in your previous message."
REMOVED
Officials of the Foreign Office who followed the case in Portugal were removed: the ambassador John Buck was replaced and the consul Bill Henderson and her adviser Sheree Dodd retired themselves.

Thanks, Li - interesting! Wonder if that anti-extradition lawyer will be called upon to exercise his skills in the near future?

So, K&G's undisclosed location could be Portimao.
They've gone back before the re-interviewing of the rest of the group; no option because they'd signed their agreement to do so before leaving Portugal. It would be in their best interest to get their story in first, before the rest of the group.

Oh, wouldn't that crack the Pact of Silence, lol...especially with cell-phone transmissions right out in the open, with anyone able to listen in to them.
I can just see G & K trying to communicate to the remaining-in-England pacters by way of semaphore or smoke signals.

thanks so much for that -the quote at the bottom is very interesting!
you have to wonder about why these people moved on --were they forced out because Gordy was too chumed up with Gerry?
Is this another SCANDAL of Goverment?
